Deadpool and Wolverine Audio Commentary script notes

Deadpool and Wolverine audio commentary script notes

Sizzle reel ideas:

Welcome everyone to the long anticipated Deadpool and Wolverine audio commentary presented to you today by me, Dean from on the brink. Welcome you to the MCU and Deadpool, although we are joining at a bit of a low point as he points out later in the film.

Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever

Logan to Wade hey I’ve been looking forward to this team up and it was worth the wait

Ladies and gents, this is the moment you’ve been waiting for.

1 Opening titles/bye Bye Bye:

Deadpool and Wolverine is the 34th film in the Marvel cinematic universe. Deadpool has been added to the opening marvel logo and of course we have his signature touch of singing along to the Marvel theme.  This is the very first R-rated film under the Walt Disney Studios motion, pictures, banner and the Marvel Cinematic Universe

If you look very closely, you can see that Deadpool is edited to be dodging Captain America’s shield and it’s a scene from the first Deadpool film. Interesting sidenote that’s the scene that involves Gina Carano, who was fired by Disney for some controversy so it’s kind of interesting that she ends up in this tiny section of film during the midst of all that.. it’s something that the YouTube channel new rock stars pointed out I thought that was rather interesting. You can make of that what you will. I will not be taking a political stance at this time. however, I do think it’s a bit hypocritical that she got fired for a political social media post when plenty of other celebrities within the Walt Disney Company do the same.

As the camera pulls away from the Marvel logo in the letters, you can see brand new detail that the Marvel’s the three women can be seen as well as a shot from this film way later on when Deadpool Beckins Logan towards him from the back of the Honda Odyssey, they’re blink and you miss it details but they’re there. Also, as Deadpool sings along with the theme, you noticed that the background turns into his red textured suit as well as the logo turns, red and yellow, signifying, Deadpool and wolverine.

between the release of Deadpool two and Deadpool and wolverine, Disney purchased Fox so that’s a big thing. The way that that affected Marvel was that it brought in the fox assets, which included the X-Men and Deadpool. They make a lot of references to Logan, the film and the character throughout this film and the opening scene here with Logan‘s grave in North Dakota calls back right to the tail end of the film Logan. It’s hilarious that Deadpool is now back here desiccating the grave completely undoing the film.

"I wanted a movie that would be filled with Easter egg delights for Marvel fans who know the

MCU lore deeply, but I wanted a movie that would be equally satisfying to people who were coming to Deadpool & Wolverine new and cold, without prior knowledge," Levy says. "There's no barrier of entry in Deadpool & Wolverine. The stuff that touches on MCU mythology is like frosting on the cake; its not the substance of the cake. That was important, because I don't want to exclude any audience member from enjoying this film."

At the time of the release of Logan, Hugh Jackman announced his retirement from playing Wolverine. Then in 2022, he and Ryan Reynolds had an announcement video stating that he’d be back for a third Deadpool film.

Sean Levi loved the ending scenes of the film Logan, especially when his grave is marked by a cross and then it’s turned on its edge by Laura to be changed to an X. He felt that that was one of the most perfect ways to end a film and he even called up James Mangold to congratulate him and ask him about the film over lunch. They knew that according to the director, Sean Levi that Deadpool is known for his audacity and subversiveness, so he really wanted to take that iconic shot from Logan and have that be the beginning point of Deadpool and Wolverine, where Deadpool is able to play off of that and do a take on it

Only you (and you alone) (1955) is the song that plays while Deadpool is digging up the grave is by The Platters. The lead vocal on the song is American R&B singer Tony Williams. It is a single on their self titled album The Platters

You can see an I like Me mug next to him which later you will see, he snagged from the TVA clerk that he talks to in the cubicle below the platform he’s standing on. This phrase is from the movie planes, trains, and automobiles. It’s from a line John Candy delivers.

The opening scene with the Logan grave was set not actually in snow, but it looks incredible.

The soundtrack for this film was put together piece by piece from a playlist that Ryan Reynolds has had for years that he shared with Director Shawn Levy, and as songs matched up with images, and it felt right, they added them into the soundtrack.

Opening scene as Deadpool uses the adamant team skeleton to ward off the guards was purely the idea of Ryan Reynolds

Number 24601 is in printed into the skull of the adamantium skeleton of Logan, which is a reference to 2012’s Les Mis. It’s the prisoner number of Sean Ville Sean.

Stunt double Alex keskovitch choreographed the Deadpool dancing and performed it himself

Something that was new to me is I learned that Wade’s middle name is Winston so as the TVA calls out Wade Winston Wilson we learned that his initials are WWW.

Background on the TVA arrival into this film and how that plays a part. (Previously they appeared in Loki etc)

Discuss special effects of filming the fight/dance scene

Gossip Girl of course is a reference to Ryan Reynold’s wife Blake Lively who is a (what) in the show

Deadpool is known for the opening credit scenes, being very lavish and spectacular and full of funny bits. Each time one of the TVA soldiers is killed. There’s a new name of course that you can see flash on the screen the first being Sean Levy the director. Sean levy and Ryan Reynolds have a really great relationship and they work very well together on films. The first one I believe they worked on together was free Guy , followed by the Adam project. deadpool and Wolverine is the third Deadpool movie, and it’s also the third film that Ryan Reynolds and Sean Levi have worked on together.

Ryan Reynolds wanted to figure out a clever way to approach this opening. Ryan is the one who ultimately decided to use Logan‘s decomposed body as a weapon. Alex (who), the stunt double was very helpful in the scene as Deadpool. He was also a stunt double for Deadpool in the first film. He performed the dance scenes as DP which is taken directly from the  performances done in the NSync music video.

The bye-bye by sequence used in the film, was so popular. The *NSYNC even changed the name of their music video upload on YouTube YouTube to official video from Deadpool and wolverine. The song also popped up back in the film X2 where it played on the radio and made Logan annoyed so this is in a way kind of a throwback to that. It’s an annoying song towards slogan, even though he’s dead.

Ryan Reynolds revealed that Deadpool & Wolverine was originally going to be called Deadpool & Friend; however, they decided to change the title the day before the first trailer was released after negative feedback from the proposed title leak. Ryan Reynolds claimed that Disney/Marvel had already shipped 9,000 seven-foot tall standees to theaters with the old title.

2 March 14, 2018 Happy Hogans office

After a quick brief, look back at scenes from Deadpool two with the time travel element, we have our first major scene that takes place here in Happy Hogan’s office. This scene takes place between Age of Ultron and Infinity War.

Has the titles read that this takes place on earth 616 on the sacred timeline, what that signifies is… (what)

This is a fun scene that takes a look at the past, but we also get a sense of where Wade‘s mind is currently. He really wants to matter and he really wants to impress his girlfriend Vanessa and show her that he’s capable of doing something worthwhile and not just being a merc with a mouth only.

In the John Favreau scene as he plays, happy Hogan he didn’t just play happy. He also brought in his filmmaking and storytelling expertise to really help. Ryan and Sean hone in on what Deadpool‘s wish is truly flesh out what Wade really wants and the whole scene worked really well they had various forms of Who Deadpool would be speaking with a bounced round ideas like Tony Stark himself or perhaps even Nick fury, but they decided that since happy Hogan is a hero, but not quite full superhero like Deadpool that he would be a perfect person to chat with. John offered a lot of great insight

Production designer Ray Chan was the man who gathered John Favre’s office, happy hogan’s office and really made it what it appears in the film with all the wonderful Easter eggs. Sadly he passed away before the film was released but according to director Shawn levy, his influence is in every frame of this film.

The Original face of Ultron is in the display case.

Wade is on a journey of selfishness to selflessness after speaking with happy Hogan

Wade mentions his sadly perished members of the X force in the scene which were previously seen in Deadpool two. X force consisting of members domino Shatterstar, Peter, Vanisher, Bedlam, Zeitgeist, and of course led by Deadpool. The unfortunate events of that day of course we’re due to a slight wind advisory that was in effect..

Easter Eggs to look for on the shelves of marvel lore.

Captain America prototype shield from Iron Man two

The Forbes magazine with pepper pots on the cover seen in iron man 3

Captain America collector cards, the same ones that Nick fury used in the avengers

Iron Man Mark two helmet

Swinging sticks from pepper pot’s desk from Iron Man two

A Chinese terra-cotta head behind happy as a reference to Iron Man three and his dealings with the Mandarin

On the side wall shelf, there is a Mobius strip, which was a shape that became an inspiration for Tony Stark during endgame in order for them to go back in time to save the world from Thanos

From Iron Man Tony’s first arc reactor

A brief glimpse at a photo of Tony Stark and Peter Parker with Peter Parker, (Peter is covered because he is a Sony Marvel character and would’ve needed clearance to be shown), covered up by the toy Iron Man helmet, which is the same toy helmet that Kidd Peter wore at the Stark Expo.

Iron Man mark five brief case from Iron Man two

A broken Iron Man helmet from avengers age of Ultron

Stark Expo poster on the wall from 1954.

Screenwriter Rhett Reese said there were plans for all six original Avengers actors to appear in the scene where Wade asks to join the team, which would've involved Wade berating each of them after being rejected. Peter was also supposed to appear in the scene and casually lift Mjölnir in the background

Happy Hogan reiterates, the importance of what the avengers stand for when he talks to Wade about him wanting to join up. The avengers help those who need them not out of any selfish gain. Wade wants to be an avenger because he feels he needs something which is not how the avengers operate this creates an issue for him because he really needs something to be an opportunity to show the world that he matters and can make a difference, but at this time He’s not needed by the avengers. I find it interesting that happy wink sad and kind of says you know we’ll keep an eye on you, which leads me to believe that he will play a part in the upcoming avengers films. This hasn’t been fully confirmed, but we do have avengers, secret wars, and avengers doomsday on the horizon.

All Wade wants is to feel like he matters

Ryan Reynolds Facebook on Jon Favreau: Jon Favreau didn't just jump into #DeadpoolAndWolverine for a quick one night stand as Happy Hogan. He gave us the 360 degree vision of an, innovator, foundational Marvel forefather and ace storyteller. And if I have his number right, he is WILDLY uncomfortable with everything I'm writing in this post. But fuck it, I got what I needed out of him so he's gonna drink the medicine.

One of the many things I love about playing Deadpool is that he's a fan. Like me. Deadpool LOVES Marvel. So, working with Jon — who's one of the original creatives who built an empire - was somehow BETTER than sitting with one of my heroes. And almost better than being cradled in Thor's powerful arms while he sobs like a fucking motherless child who lost his binky in a house fire.

Jon is one of the greats. Yeah, the movie benefitted from his incredible performance, but we got something more important: his generosity of time and energy to talk story and brainstorm larger themes and ideas.

I'd drop everything to show up for this guy anytime or anywhere. Thank you, @jonfavreau.

Wade Wilson work/birthday party scenes

“When one door closes, your locker at work opens”

Earth 10005 six years later. That is typically signified as the Fox universe earth

There is a book in Wade‘s locker called the Canadian mounted which is a dirty book, but it is a book that’s been seen in Deadpool one and Deadpool two. Ryan Reynolds really looked up to John Candy, who was also seen reading that book in the movie planes, trains, and automobiles.

We are re-introduced to Peter from the ex force who previously died from various acidic, vomit, but was was re-introduced into the timeline after Wade went back in time to save him.

We’re introduced to majority of the cast from Deadpool and Deadpool two here at Wade‘s birthday party. Majority of these cast members don’t appear through the rest of the film, which is kind of a different route than a Deadpool film normally takes. However, they’ve made it very clear that Deadpool and wolverine is a distinctly different film from the original Deadpool’s and Really that it’s not even Deadpool three it’s like its own standalone team up film. so it’s really fun that we get to see characters like Dopinder, Colossus and Vanessa, etc. despite them not all being a major part of the film.

Alternate versions of the film that were considered were a frame by frame remake of Thor the Dark world up until the midway point when it would suddenly switch topics. Another was a 4 million dollar Sundance Deadpool film that had no action, just a Deadpool suit. Another that was deapdools deleted scenes extravaganza, which would have shown Deadpool appearing in various past scenes of the MCU implying he was there the whole time, just ended up getting cut from the final films.

Leslie Uggams reprises her role as blind Al or Aldetha in this film. She is most known for beginning her career in the 1950s, however she is probably most known for portraying Kizzy in the television miniseries roots from 1977.  She has also won awards for Broadway.

You may notice that the character weasel is absent from this film entirely and he was a huge part of the last two. What’s going around? Is that the actor TJ Miller and Ryan Reynolds unfortunately had some disagreements and ultimately he did not appear in the film.

Ryan Reynolds actually is constantly in a mask as he plays Wade, Wilson and Deadpool because of the cancer skin that Wade Wilson has and actually Ryan Reynolds has talked about how he prefers to wear the Deadpool mask cause it’s kind of hellish to be in that make up as Wade Wilson

Angel of the morning song by Merrillee Rush and The Turnarounds

Slash song by Stray Kids

Being at Disney acquisition, it was an interesting conversation to be had with Kevin Feige president of Marvel Studios What would be allowed or not in a Deadpool film under Disney’s banner. We get the reference here that blind al mentions cocaine and Wade reacts by saying hey that’s the one thing Feige says is off limits. Kevin Feige actually never banned the usage of drugs in the film. The way he put it he said he was open to anything.

TVA Paradox’s office

The TVA set is a real set. Production designer Ray Chan worked very hard to give the film a realistic look grounded in things that didn’t look to glossy or cgi. The crew purchased every bit of copper leaf in Europe to create the TVA control room seen in the film. That is not an exaggeration.

They threw around a lot of interesting ideas for how to take this film. What idea was to do it as a Sundance film with no action, but just a Deadpool suit. Another idea was to do a shot by shot remake of for the dark world until the midpoint where it would shift to another place. Another was a Deadpool deleted scenes extravaganza where they go back to previous Marvel films and show you the Deadpool is actually there all along reading between the lines a little bit on that.

Ware. ex.

The whole film tricks, the audience into making it feel as if that this is Deadpool‘s grand entrance into the MCU and how does that look? How does he explore it when actually it’s more of a love letter to the Fox universe and we get to explore more of that world ultimately

As paradox and Wade were walking to paradox’s office and the original cut, there was a scene deleted where they’re walking into an elevator and I think it was a scene they should’ve kept because of the funny line Wade says were he says something on the lines of oh please, I’ve seen Dr. Ant in the quantum verse of madness

As paradox walks Wade through the TVA implies that he may have a purpose in the future that will help the avengers which is a foreshadowing at his possible appearance in the future avengers, doomsday, and or secret wars. Including a scene that Wade has no idea about till now where Deadpool and Thor are clutching each other, and Thor is crying. I suppose we will find out in the near future what that is about.

Art Director Ray Chan purchased every bit of gold leaf in Europe for the set of the TVA paradox speaks with Deadpool here that is not an exaggeration as confirmed by Director Sean Levi

I am marvel Jesus is said in the same rhythm as Tony starks I am iron man

The suck it fox I’m going to Disneyland line is a clever one that references the Super Bowl players that traditionally say they’re going to Disneyland now that they’ve won.

Deadpool actually did go to Disneyland in his story time with Deadpool shows at Avengers Campus for a time.

“You’re gonna old yeller my fucking universe?” It’s a funny reference to the 1950s Disney classic or unfortunately the dog old yeller gets rabies and has to be put down.

As Wayne Grace fully falls down into the cubicle, “iris” by the Goo goo dolls (1998) plays. Iris comes from the name Iris DeMent who is a folk singer. Apparently John Rzeznik got the name from a newspaper ad in the LA Weekly in a concert listing. He found the name beautiful and decided to use it for the title of the song. It’s a great song and definitely one of my favorites from this soundtrack. It was originally written for the film City of Angels and was included on the album Dizzy Up The Girl. It’s known as a staple for the Goo Goo Dolls and remains one of the most popular singles to ever be released.

When Deadpool tells him to keep my country‘s name out of your mouth, it’s a reference to win. Will Smith punched Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Hugh Jackman expressed that he wasn’t a huge fan of comic books, but that he was very happy that he was able to portray Logan as somebody that he didn’t know from a comic book that he could just play as a regular character that had no prior bias or preconception he loves that character and was so happy to give Logan a extremely Powerful and meaningful end in the movie Logan but then on August 14, 2022, he was driving to the beach and he had a thought drop in his head. “What do you want to do Hugh?” He decided that he wanted to call Ryan up and see what he thought of à Wolverine-Deadpool film. Ryan was about to do his last pitch to the executive producers for a film. He knew that was the one and it was like the stars were aligning. He went in there and winged à pitch where Deadpool and wolverine team up. The film is now essentially what Ryan pitched that day.

The desecration of the sacred corpse and finding Logan

“Make it stop” “Mangold tried” is a line that always makes me laugh. Of course James Mangold was the director of Logan.

Power of love by Huey Lewis and the News from back to the future Marty’s travel scene across hill valley

Ryan Reylonds describes Wolverine as a Clint Eastwood type character that is very careful with his words and expresses a lot of his emotions through violence.

Wolverine variants hunt for anchor being. The short Wolverine is comic accurate. Hugh Jackman as wolverine was always just a tiny bit controversial because of his towering height of 6’2”.

The age of apocalypse wolverine is seen in the fiery alley His alias is weapon X.

The Wolverine in a casino is named patch and he’s from a wolverine comic from the 1980s. He’s a James Bond esque character.

The wolverine that Deadpool get shot by sitting on an old timer rustic porch is reminiscent of Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford type character. Old man Logan

The Wolverine that is seen hung crucified on a giant axis from the uncanny X-Men number 251.

The wolverine in a tan suit is as you guessed it, also from the comics. He’s done in the John Bern style here. This is an original rendering of how he looked in the Marvel comics when he pulls out his adamantine clause, and we see the reflection of the Hulk, this is a reference to the comic cover of the Incredible Hulk from Todd McFarland number 340.

As Deadpool yells at the Hulk two stay away, you dull creature I’m marvel Jesus that is a reference to Loki, speaking to Hulk in the avengers just before the Hulk takes Loki and smashes them around like a ragdoll

Henry cavil dc reference.

Kevin Feige served as an associate producer on X-Men (2000), and was present at Hugh Jackman's original audition for Wolverine. Feige said, "For [Jackman], and for me, and I think for all of the fans of Marvel, it's unbelievable what has happened in 23 years... to have Hugh come back is incredible. For me, personally, that is where I started. It was his first on-set audition, and he flew up to Toronto to do a read with Anna Paquin. I remember sitting behind the camera, well behind the camera, at his audition... It's very full-circle having him come back in this new Deadpool film."

This is it by Huey Lewis plays in the background when DP finds his wolverine

Only took 20 years reference to Logan in yellow suit. Of course this is the way he looked in the comics. The original X-Men films that came out in the early 2000s were hot off the presses of previous successes like the matrix. They used a lot of black leather. Kevin Feige explained that this is the reason why the X-Men dawn, the black leather, as opposed to the colorful costumes because that was what was looked at as cool at the time.

On your left sweet cheeks line is a nod to cap saying on your left to Falcon in Captain America 2

The official art book for this movie reveals a number of scrapped Wolverine variants Wade would've encountered, including Baby Wolverine, a Wolverine who had his adamantium stripped from his body by Magneto, Ultimate Wolverine, a Wolverine wearing the same black leather from the original X-Men trilogy, and most prominently, a variant of Logan that became the Hulk.

6 to the trash heap/the void

Pitt Stone Quarry is where the void was filmed. Shawn levy mentions how the film feels very anthemic to have DP and W together in a film but how much they worked to also root it in the real world by shooting as much as they could on location and using as little cgi as possible where possible.

To the left of Deadpool, as he wakes up on the ground of the void is a copy of secret war’s number five by Jonathan Hickman 2015. This of course is a foreshadowing of things to come in the avengers universe..

Next to the comic book cover is a bottle of pingarache it’s a juice from a Brazilian plant where Edward Norton‘s Bruce Banner worked in the 2008 Incredible Hulk film.

Among the rubble is also Toronto’s CN Tower, which is obviously a Canadian reference which Ryen Reynolds uses a lot a shield Hella carrier these have been seen in various marvel films, but this could be even the one that Wade fought Francis on in the original Deadpool film. Also a Chitari Leviathan. Skeleton likely from the first avenger film in the battle of New York. Also the Golden Gate Bridge, which was a huge piece of X-Men the last stand when it was moved by magneto.

Mad max jokes. The vehicles, Furiosa

20th Century Fox logo is easily one of the most recognizable pieces here in the void. It’s interesting how it’s buried with the X pointed out eagle fans may remember that the X in 20th Century Fox often would be left glowing for a couple seconds after the logo went black on the previous X-Men films, this may be a nod to that. It’s inclusion here in the void suggests that the erosion of 20th century Fox Marvel Cannon into the past has begun, and Deadpool is here to do his best to honor it and infuse some life back into it where possible with wolverine and some characters that are upcoming later in the avengers universe.

Paparazzi story

AC/DC hells bells plays as DP and W fight

The Tobey maguire Spider-Man move that flash uses on Toby is also used here in fight scene between wolverine and Deadpool.

À Fantastic four car drives up with mercenaries driving in it.

A v16 coupe pulls up which is reminiscent of red skulls vehicle that appears in Captain America the first avenger however, this one is patterned after Tony Starks Ford roadster flame pattern, and has a tiny little Iron Man hood ornament instead of a Hydra one.

Stephen Grant cupcake truck from Moon Knight to scene also.

A tank pulls up, pulled by a bunch of motorcycles, including one motorcycle from the first Captain America. It’s a Hydro motorcycle that Steve Rogers drives.

There’s a tank vehicle that has a magnet that’s operated by the Canadarm it’s the attachment that originally paired with the NASA Columbia shuttle and they fly a flag. That’s an avengers logo with an anarchy a spray painted over it.

Ray Park returns as towed from X-Men as well as the actor Tyler Maine who played sabertooth from the same film. He is a longtime antagonist of Wolverine. Another Returning actor is Aaron Stanford who returns as Pyro from X2 in X-Men the last stand.

Captain America/johnny storm fakeout. FLAME ON

7 Cassandra Nova

Alioth from Loki season 1 episode 5 makes an appearance courtesy of Deadpool’s reference

Ant man body. It’s a visual from the old man Logan comics, but in that case it was Hank him as opposed to here in the film. It’s Scott Lang Ant-man. As far as I was able to find, there’s no real explanation of why he’s here in the void. But it appears that Scott Lang has definitely been pruned.

Within Cassandra‘s lair, we can see Lady Death strike from X2. Jason Fleming returns as a teleporter from X-Men first class. Next is juggernaut from X-Men. The last stand played by a new actor. The tattooed Callisto, a member of the mutant group the omega that were allied with magneto. We also see a variant of bull’s-eye a character who appeared in the 2003 daredevil film.. A punisher villain, the Russian also a version of PSYLOCk

Cassandra is sister to Charles Xavier. Cassandra‘s signature fingers in the skull effect is a staple of hers from the comics

Music man hugh jackman reference

Death of Johnny storm Chris Evan’s (not DP’s favorite Chris) from fantastic four.

Ryan’s facebook:

Thank you, @chrisevans. Some of the greatest moments I've ever experienced in a theater were authored by this guy. Some of the hardest laughing I've ever done came from listening to Chris tell a story — about anything. And he got me again this year. Chris is one of those movie stars who's actually better than you hope he is. And people hold him to a crazy high standard. He's just the absolute best.

Part of the movie's theme is saying goodbye... And one of the gifts of working on the film is that I got to say goodbye on my own terms. Seeing Johnny Storm (if only for a short while) was like seeing someone you miss come back from the dead in a dream. A visit way too brief and too lovely to be real. Goodbyes are hard. It was hard saying goodbye to Chris Evans' Johnny Storm. But at least we got to actually say it this time.

On the other hand, it wouldn't have been necessary if he hadn't run his fat-ass mouth around Cassandra. Or if she hadn't zip-zapped his skin, leaving his organs to splash crudely onto the ground, while the soil greedily drank his blood. It was horrible.

Cassandra shows us finally Deadpool‘s past with Vanessa how they’ve talked and come to a crossroads where Vanessa wants him to find something to live for to matter and Wade is struggling to understand what he has to do to do that and he thinks he has to become an Avenger.

8 Nicepool intro

The diner scene between Wade and Logan really sits there hearts on the screen and you can really explore the characters in a slow steel spot. Ryan and Sean really wanted to have kind of like a road trip movie or two superheroes are sitting at a diner so this is their way of inserting that into this movie as they leave the diner and they’re walking towards a nice pool you can actually see a plane, the train in automobile from the film plane, trains, and automobiles

I’m telling Blake (Lively). Ryan’s wife

X23 reference leads us to the later meeting of her

Ryan’s Facebook:

Dogpool's tongue is an acquired taste. I recommend not acquiring it.

@dogpool #DeadpoolAndWolverine

Dog pool background “Mary Puppins” is played by a dog named Peggy in 2023 won in 2023 for Britains ugliest dog. Peggy is a crossbreed between a pug and a Chinese crested dog known as a pugese.

Nice pool references that lady pool just had a baby, but she can’t even tell what is a reference to Blake lively who just gave birth to their second child in 2023

Lady in red song Chris de Burgh

Divorce joke at Hugh background xxxx he was married to Deborah Lee furnace from 1996 to September 2023.

Honda Oddysey history xxxxx is it accurate what Deadpool says?

As they drive the Honda Odyssey through the cornfield, they drive by Thanos‘s black order Q ships that were used in avengers infinity war

According to the production notes for this film, the paradigms for this Deadpool Wolverine story are the classic road trip films like midnight, run, planes, trains, and automobiles, and 48 hours. These are films that feature unlikely pairs that are thrust together on a journey who, in normal circumstances wouldn’t choose to spend a single minute with each other.

Nice pool is actually a character created purely for this film. He’s not from the comics.

Ryan Reynolds put salmon paste in his mouth to get Mary Poppins to lick his mouth intensely.

9 Honda Odyssey scene

I’m with you Avril Lavigne song

Colors of the Los Angeles rams or of course, the same as Wolverine with the yellow and the blue

Deadpool does Spider-Man shots as they drive

Deadpool pulls out a picture of the most important people in his life. That may be a reference to back to the future where Marty McFly also has a photo of him and his siblings. Avengers endgame had a few playful digs at back to the future so I’m happy to see that back to the future is lovingly referenced in parody in this film

Greatest showman song background xxxxx

You’re the one I want (John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John) car fight scene. I love how it’s a total bloodbath but they frame it like it’s a sex scene complete with the pan away to the coexist sticker.

Director Sean Levi is actually the proud owner of a Honda Odyssey even names it Betsy just like they do in the film but as he knows it’s a great way to get around if you have a lot of offspring

Director Sean Levi explained that since there’s gonna be a lot of fights in a Deadpool wolverine team up film, they wanted each fight to have its own language and own style so you obviously have the opening fight sequence with the TVA guards which has its own very unique choreographed style and language then you had the open world void battle Then you also have this Honda Odyssey closed. Space fight would utilizes a lot of different choreograph techniques. it was compared to. something like a knife fight in a phone booth.

Director Shawn Levy said paraphrasingly that it’s important to not bludgeon the audience with the violence and more of what’s been seen before. They make it as real as possible without CGI and they try to make the story unique and framing each fight in new circumstances. Distinguishing each fight. The fight with the Deadpool variants is the first time Deadpool and Wolverine team up and not fight each other. They work together alone.

10 lair scene

Wanda maximoff statue from Doctor strange 2 is the ceiling of this room

You can see a glass chest set that perhaps is from Charles Xavier

Hulk bed from Thor ragnarok is where Wade wakes up

Elektra, Blade, Gambit background xxxxx

Blades appear appearance in this film is the longest gap of marvel characters had between film films beating out Alfred Molina for his appearance in Spider-Man no Way home as doctor octopus.

A huge part of the reason Blade is such a prominent figure in this film is that he without his film in 1998 pave the path and there may not have been a fox Marvel universe, and therefore possibly not even an MCU without blade

Blade had his first films beginning in the late 90s and early 2000s and Electra had her first film in the early 2000s and also appeared in daredevil. Gambit never got his own film. Sean Levi was part of the original crew that was discussing the gambit film that starred Channing Tatum that never came to fruition so this is a really neat opportunity for a character who never got his chance among all of these other characters such as Blade and Electra that never got their ending

Gambit is described by Deadpool as the “Superhero version of Hawkeye” complete with closeup magic.

Ryan’s Facebook:

Gambit is a guy Chan was born to play. His story is similar to my road on Deadpool — in that Chan spent a decade trying to put the most comic-accurate version of Gambit on the big screen.

Remy LeBeau is grafted to his soul and needs to come out and deal. Some characters can only exist with a one in a billion pairing and this is it.

Gambit found his author in Chan. He's one of the coolest, smartest characters in Comics and still largely unexplored.

I want more - and from what I saw in theaters, you do too.

Having the chance to say goodbye to some of these heroes is as important as having new characters to root for... and rooting for Gambit is easy. Rooting for Chan is even easier. He's one of the greatest, hardest working, kindest people in this entire industry. I couldn't be more thrilled to see @channingtatum pull Gambit from the dead and bring him to life at the perfect time and perfect way. #Gambit #DeadpoolAndWolverine #Minions

We lean that Punisher, Quicksilver, and daredevil all died at the end of Cassandra

When Jennifer Garner as Electra says it’s fine. She’s referring to when Ben Affleck played daredevil. Of course she and Ben had a divorce.

11 Campfire with Logan and Laura

It’s important to realize that because Logan feels the shame and guilt. He carries from his world that he never takes off his yellow costume because before he would never put it on now, he will never take it off and it’s according to Director Sean Levi no coincidence that by the end as he in Deadpoolsacrifice all for the world that his shirt does come off, and in fact, he becomes unburdened from his shame.

Cool to see them connect across different dimensions

Because it reminds him of his friends from the X-Men who died in his universe

Who am I Hugh jackman les mis

They think that man is me

Without a second glance

The stranger they have found

This man could be my chance

Why should I save his hide?

Why should I right this wrong?

When I have come so far

And struggled for so long?

If I speak, I am condemned

If I stay silent, I am damned

I am the master of hundreds of workers

They all look to me

Can I abandon them, how would they live if I am not free?

If I speak, they are condemned

If I stay silent, I am damned

Who am I?

Can I condemn this man to slavery?

Pretend I do not feel his agony

This innocent who bears my face

Who goes to judgement in my place

Who am I?

12 building the time ripper/back to Cassandra

As they drive to meet Cassandra to fight back at her layer, they pass in as guardian Golden city there’s been pruned.

It appears that I crashed guardians of the galaxy is on the ground. The Milano.

There have been four major punishers. They were Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, Ray Stevenson, and John Bernthal.

Bring ‘em out song by rapper T.I.

Deadpool’s are a dime a dozen in the void.

The graves of Wolverines friends scene is spooky and eerie

X 23 wears her sunglasses from Logan that she got at the gas station.

Ryan’s Facebook: When @dafnekeen shows up in #DeadpoolAndWolverine she shines her light toward the big beating heart of the movie. Dafne and Hugh standing next to each other is a pinch me moment. It stands on the shoulders of the Logan film which is both a masterpiece and a giant.

@slevydirect and I have been living with her every day in the edit and sound mix throughout a pretty relentless post production. Even three days ago as we went through the film's gag reel... I still get geeked out seeing her in those sunglasses.

I'm SO happy folks all around the world have been carried away to a better place by Dafne and @thehughjackman and their unbelievable performances.

Mr PG13 except the last one is in reference to the X-Men films, all being PG-13 except for the last one Logan, which was rated R.

I’ll be seeing you song background xxx

When Cassandra mentions a magician that she wore the skin of for four days she’s referring to Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange’s cape can actually be seen behind Cassandra in fact that’s how we know that he is who she is referring to as Deadpool confronts her.

You can also see the Cassandra is sitting on the throne of none other than Thanos

Before Deadpool and Wolverine jump through the portal, we see that Cassandra has a sling ring with a piece of the reality in the time stone on the sides, implying that this portal she conjure up help you travel between realities and times. These sling rings were introduced in the first Doctor Strange film, and they’re typically used to travel the Multiverse.

Exposition from paradox and Cassandra

Make me lose control song by Eric Carmen

Ryan’s Facebook:

Peggy. Dogpool. Mary Puppins. She goes by many names. She's obviously a very special cast member. What many don't know, is that she was also the Intimacy Coordinator on #DeadpoolAndWolverine. Which was a complete disaster, start to finish.

What kind of Intimacy Coordinator says hello each morning by hurling her leathery, 32 inch tongue into your throat and down to the bottom of your stomach? But I think the biggest problem is that she's a fucking dog.

But I love this dog almost as much as she loves tasting me. She's a good girl. @dogpool

The store that Deadpool Wolverine get blasted into is liefelds, just feet orthopedic solutions which is a reference to the comic writer and artist Bob Lefeld, who is the co-creator of the Deadpool character, and also of artist notorious for under drawing feet.

The proposal reference from nicepool

Hugh Jackman said that he really really enjoyed putting on the costume in Cowell for wolverine and that he felt that Hugh Jackman fully disappeared into that and he became fully wolverine

On August 14th, 2022, @thehughjackman stopped his car to call me.

He'd been having a crappy week... he'd had the flu, two flat tires and some random idiot egged his house. But what happened next, happened fast.

He told me he wanted to bring The Wolverine back.

Months later, he not only brought Wolvie back into the light, he'd (at long last) wear the iconic yellow suit.

@slevydirect and I didn't talk about it much, but we were feeling a TON of pressure; worrying about how we walk these characters into the MCU, worrying about all of our secret characters STAYING secret - along with so many moving parts. But when Hugh stepped onto set in THAT SUIT... everyone knew something special was happening. I remember thinking everything was gonna be okay.

He’s not necessarily the same kid pool, but it’s neat that kid pool does appear in the comics. Kidd pool is voiced by Inez Reynolds, the daughter of Ryan, Reynolds, and Blake lively.

Inez is his daughter Kidpool

When nice pools had explodes and there’s a splatter on Deadpool‘s mask there are two red dots of blood that appear right in the pupils Iris’s of Deadpool‘s mask, and that was real that was not added. There was a perfect thing that they were looking for in that shot that could’ve Not happened in 1 million different takes, but it did on the first one.

The giant one shot as they battle all the Deadpool’s is all practical all stunt work

Canada pool is the one in the black suit

Wizard of Oz multiverse reference

Poking fun at the marvel multiverse use (nicepool I think it’s been steadily great since endgame)

They were very proud of the shot called “the oner” where the camera pans across the bus in one continuous shot as wolverine and Deadpool chop down the various variants of DP. It’s also called a motion control shot, one continuous action.

Ryan’s facebook: I had Like A Prayer in my head for the 3rd Deadpool film since 2017. Before Wolverine entered the chat, It was largely gonna be the same

*single shot, motion-control sequence I'd dreamed of, but my dance partner was originally Colossus - who would have died in the preceding scene, launching Deadpool into a state of pure rage and revenge... all set to @madonna's inspired and singular song, Like A Prayer.

Obviously, Hugh joining changed destinies for the better. (And Colossus, along with his virginity, stayed intact)

The whole movie lives and dies on partnerships.

My partnership with @slevydirect is one that l'll never take for granted. I can't live without him. My partnership with @thehughjackman and the trust and history between all three of us is the glue.

Hugh Jackman worked very hard to get the oner just right and he mentioned how out of breath he got after each take

Madonna (like a prayer). Ryan had a vision of using this song in tandem with a high action sequence one day for approximately 6 years before it finally appeared in a Deadpool film with the variant oner scene.

Stanlee steamer ad on the bus including the year 1922 grime fighting since, which is the year Stanley was born

The Raymundo’s poster on the back of the bus is a nod to Ray Chan, who is the art director on the film and the man who sadly passed away during the production

14 Time Ripper use/closing

Ray Chan did the set direction of the movie. Of course he also did a phenomenal job at making everything look so good including the time ripper which is mostly practical.

In the subway terminal where the time Ripper‘s house if you look on the sign where it says green line northbound via lone Pine Mall, that’s a reference to back to the future where the twin Pines mall becomes the lone pine mall after certain events alter time

I’m marvel Jesus moment

There’s lots of great moments with Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool his line. Here is he’s talking to Wolverine through the time ripper door the line about Marvel Jesus and Spock that was all one take.

Wolverine pecs are real not cgi

Who am I from Les Mis Hugh Jackman

Can I conceal myself for evermore?

Pretend I'm not the man I was before?

And must my name until I die

Be no more than an alibi?

Must I lie?

How can I ever face my fellow men?

How can I ever face myself again?

My soul belongs to God, I know

I made that bargain long ago

Gave me hope, when hope was gone

He gave me strength to journey on

Who am I?

Who am I?

Jean Valjean

Monsieur le Maire

And so your Honor, you see it's true

This man bears no more guilt than you

Who am I?

Iris reprise

Deadpool fulfils his role as marvel Jesus by advocating with the TVA for the redemption of the fox characters that got left behind and forgotten by the world, and to help Logan fix his past and reclaim his world.

B 15 from the DVA of course is seen in the Loki TV series previously that she appears here in this film too

Avengers discovered Shawarma. It’s so funny to see them sitting at the Shawarma just like the avengers. which is a funny way to say that the avengers made it popular and put it on the map a bit. You can even eat it at Disneyland today in avengers campus at Disney California adventure.

As they sit outside the Shawarma place, this is a nod to planes, trains and automobiles again is Steve Martin and John Candy sit outside the hotel

You’re all I need to get by song XXXXX Aretha Franklin

Leslie Uggams celebrated her 80th birthday during the making of this film

Wade finds his purpose. He saves the world and then ends with him holding hands with Vanessa.

Sometimes the people we save, they save us right back.

In the last shot with the Deadpool and wolverine masks, they’re sitting on top of a Feiges famous pizza box which is the same pizza place that he ordered pizza from in the Deadpool first film

Explain the difference between fox marvel and Sony marvel and Disney marvel

Ryan Reynolds and Shawn levy of course go back with Fox for many many years even recently with free Guy however, Sean Levi course is very well known for cheaper by the dozen and night at the museum. Ryan Reynolds also in addition to the Deadpool films did X Men Origins Wolverine. Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds previously worked together on Free Guy and the Adam Project. They consider each other creative soul mates.

Ryan’s Facebook:

This isn't just Deadpool saying 'Oh, Hello' to the MCU. It's Deadpool - and Hugh, Shawn and me - saying farewell to a place and an era that literally made us. We are forever grateful to the fun, weird, uneven and risky world of 20th Century Fox. It was our origin story and we wouldn't trade it for anything. And thank you to Kevin Feige and Disney for allowing us to share it.

Green Day good riddance (time of your life) song XXX Ryan Reynolds really wanted to think band of Green Day for writing that song that appears on the tribute reel on the credits. Look up the history of the song and why that’s important to this Green Day actually when Ryen reached out let Ryen know that they had just been to see Deadpool and Wolverine the whole band together in Washington DC just an hour prior so that was a huge pinch me moment for Ryan Reynolds.

Research if there’s any crazy credits on IMDb XXXXX

Kevin Feige was an associate producer on the first X-Men film so this is a reunion for he and Hugh Jackman

You belong to me Patsy Cline and The Jordanaires

Deadpool Wolverine is dedicated to the memory of Raymond Chan. Ray was our anchor being, his contribution to this film and so many others was a gift which was never taken for granted and will never be forgotten. We will miss you Ray.

Of course, the credit scene for Deadpool Wolverine is the proof of tape. The Deadpool pulls up about Johnny storm talking crap about Cassandra nova.

In the post credit scene, you can see gambit looking up on one of the screens outside of the void so you know he’s still around waiting patiently hoping for his film. It will hopefully happen one of these days.  There’s an alternate post credit scene of gambit as he slowly turns to look towards the camera and pass the camera up into the air where he beholds a marvel sparkle circle a.k.a. a sling ring portal Ryan Reynolds shared this to his social media.

In the credits, you can see that nice pool is credited to Gordon Reynolds, which is a joke from a skit that Ryan Reynolds put out in 2021 where he pretended he had a twin brother named Gordon

Betty Reynolds is in the special thanks as Hugh Jackman‘s wrangler. This is Ryan Reynolds four year-old daughter.

Film is dedicated to Ray Chan and also to Henry Delaney, who is the child’s son of Rob Delaney, who passed away in 2018

Ryan’s facebook:

For months of filming and 100 years of editing and post production, I had a front row seat to WOLVERINE. Watching and learning from my friend and favourite actor. Two things can be true: 1) Sometimes I eat too much sugar, and secretly egg his house so l can feel something. And 2) I can be both a fan and friend, simultaneously.

I met him in Sydney around 2007. Back then he was already a movie star and I walked onto set a supporting actor. Showing up midway through production isn't too dissimilar to starting a new school. I was a nervous mess. Film sets can have a scary imbalance of power and I remember seeing how he treated every member of the crew with genuine respect and appreciation. He made a case that the term "filmmaker" isn't just for people with their name on the poster.

I don't know anyone more thoughtful, and classy than Hugh. He'll do anything for someone he loves.

He'll do anything for someone he just met.

In Deadpool & Wolverine Hugh didn't just make dreams come true for fans of Wolverine. He made MY dreams come true too. He is THE X-Man.

#TilYoure90

Closing: curse counter for fuck IMDB there are approximately 118 uses of the word

Legacy:

Director Sean Levi felt that he had a real brotherhood with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman on this film and yet I think that’s really apparent. I think you can really feel that and see how closely they worked together.

This film beat out Joker 2019 as the highest grossing rated film of all time

Deadpool Wolverine was intended to be a self-contained story that doesn’t service any other Marvel film directly and Marvel Studios gave the crew the ability to do that to tell us a story that has its own story with the unique ending and doesn’t necessarily have to start leaning into whatever’s next, but hopefully there is something next. I really do hope that they play with Deadpool Wolverine a little more.

Why is Thor crying?
